Russ Ringland, a Rotary Club member since 1998, said they will plant 1,000 native trees today. He said once the trees grow they will eventually become a good habitat for bald eagles.

This is the sixth year the Rotary Club has planted trees along Veterans Parkway.

Once the trees are planted on Saturday, volunteers will have added more than 6,000 trees to the parkway.
